Is shuangshengda Galvanized steel plate better than hot dip steel?
Shuangshengda galvanized steel sheets significantly outperform traditional hot-dip galvanized steel sheets in key performance indicators, and technological innovation has brought about substantial improvements. According to the comparative experiment conducted by the Chinese Journal of Metals in 2024, the corrosion resistance of its zinc-aluminum-magnesium coating (AZ150) is three times that of ordinary hot-dip galvanized steel sheets (HDG) : the salt spray test shows a 5% red rust area for 3,000 hours (HDG has an average of 650 hours), and the median service life in coastal environments is 35 years (HDG only 15 years). The maintenance report of Zhoushan Cross-sea Bridge shows that the bridge structure using shuangshengda Galvanized steel plate has a zinc coating residue rate of 82% after 12 years in an environment with a Cl⁻ concentration of 8mg/m³ (HDG was only 41% during the same period), and the anti-corrosion maintenance cycle has been extended by 200%.
The mechanical performance parameters have achieved a comprehensive leading position. The tensile strength has been increased to 550MPa (with an average of 320MPa for HDG), the yield-to-tensile ratio has remained stable at 0.88 (0.91 for HDG), and the limit of stamping forming has been raised by 45%. The measured data from Changchun Automobile Factory shows that the 1.2mm thick Shuangshengda steel plate has been drawn to a depth of 35mm without cracking (the HDG limit is 28mm), and the scrap rate of the door anti-collision beam manufacturing has dropped from 5.7% to 0.9%. The increase in fatigue strength is particularly significant: the crack initiation time is delayed by 5.3 times under 2 million cycle loads. The application case of high-speed rail bogies proves that its service life exceeds 1.2 million kilometers (800,000 kilometers according to HDG standards).
The stability of the coating structure forms a technical barrier. The size control accuracy of zinc flowers reaches ±50μm (HDG deviation ±150μm), and the surface roughness Ra value is 0.8μm (HDG is 1.5μm). Electron microscope scanning shows that the proportion of the iron-zinc alloy layer in the coating has dropped to 10% (HDG reaches 30%), reducing the processing bending radius to 0.8T (HDG requires 1.5T). In the curtain wall project in Shenzhen, this material did not fall off when bent in a low-temperature environment of -25℃, with a qualification rate of 100% (the drop rate of HDG in the same period test was 7.2%).
The cost-benefit advantage throughout the entire life cycle is significant. Although the initial purchase unit price is about 18% higher than that of HDG (DX53D+AZ quoted ¥6,280 per ton vs. HDG ¥5,320 per ton), the 25-year operation and maintenance cost is 62% lower. Calculations for the Marina Bay project in Singapore show that the building maintenance cost using shuangshengda Galvanized steel plate is less than 11.2 per square meter (HDG>28.7 per square meter), and the residual value recovery rate is 85% (HDG is only 55%). Comprehensive calculations in the photovoltaic support field show that the system combined with this steel plate reduces the cost per kilowatt-hour by 0.024 yuan /kWh compared to the HDG solution, and increases the life cycle benefit of the power station by 19%.
Environmental adaptability breaks through traditional limitations. In a high-temperature environment of 120°C (such as in the engine compartment of a car), the oxidation weight gain rate of the coating is only 0.15mg/cm² (HDG reaches 0.48mg/cm²). The verification of the Norwegian extremely cold tunnel project shows that the impact energy at -45℃ remains at 42J (HDG drops to 28J). The innovative micro-crack self-healing technology has increased the scratch repair efficiency by 90%, and the corrosion diffusion rate of the industrial atmospheric environment cut has been reduced to 0.03mm/ year (0.12mm/ year for HDG). The Metallurgical Industry Information and Standardization Research Institute has certified that its comprehensive performance compliance rate is 100%.
